Outdoor Play Based Preschool
Explorers Preschool provides rich, nature-based play experiences that challenge the senses and inspire creativity, independence, and imagination in the great outdoors. Rooted in play, curiosity, and connection, our program invites children to learn through movement, exploration, and hands-on discovery.
At Explorers, children are encouraged to think, create, and problem-solve in ways that simply cannot be replicated inside a traditional classroom. Our outdoor environment engages both the mind and body, offering meaningful learning experiences that support the whole child.
We are passionate about restoring play—and its powerful benefits—to early childhood education. Nature is the ultimate sensory classroom, allowing children to learn at their own pace while building confidence, resilience, and a deep connection to the world around them. Play is at the heart of everything we do. You won’t find worksheets or lengthy, directed lessons here. Instead, children discover open-ended play invitations designed to spark imagination and invite exploration.
By limiting transitions and allowing long stretches of uninterrupted play, we create space for deeper learning, stronger peer connections, and authentic engagement. Community and connection grow naturally through shared outdoor experiences, collaborative play, and joyful discovery.
While our program is primarily outdoors, we do have an indoor classroom available when weather conditions do not allow us to be fully outside. Please refer to the Explorers Preschool Handbook for full details on our weather policy and outdoor learning approach.
At Explorers Preschool, play is learning—and childhood is meant to be lived outdoors.
